He was recognised for his relentless strife to make education more inclusive and for being a decisive force in the changing landscape of education. The award was presented by Mr.BasavarajRayareddy, Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education, Govt. of Karnataka, in the presence of Dr. M. P. Poonia, Vice Chairman, AICTE and Dr. M. S. Shyamasundar, Adviser, NAAC during an admirable initiative organized by The Hindu Group on 27th March, 2017.
