OBJECTIVE:

• To engage youths to take part actively in celebrating the day by knowing the importance of the day.
• To Eradicate the harmful deeds to environment by engaging the youths.

INTRODUCTION:

World Environment Day is observed every year on 5 June worldwide, it was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 to raise global awareness about environmental issues. To protect nature on this planet is celebrated to motivate people to do positive environmental work. This campaign makes a call to the public to attend its celebrations on a small scale to make people aware of the real environmental conditions and to be agents of effective programs against environmental issues to tackle climate change.

We joined the hands to celebrate and resolve to save our environment for a better future.

IMPORTANCE OF WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY:

• It is the most important day to spread awareness about the environment among people all over the world as well as to encourage positive actions about a clean and beautiful environment on earth.
• This day was established with various plans, agendas and objectives to remove all environmental issues from this planet and make it a truly beautiful planet.
• It spreads the common understanding among people that their attitudes towards environmental issues need to be changed to ensure the availability of a safer and more prosperous future for all countries and peoples.

ACTIVITIES PERFORMED AT THE WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATIONS:

New Horizon college, Kasturinagar Department of Computer under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan Programme organized World Environment Day march and walk around Kasturi Nagar locality starting from the college campus along with the students and Staffs to give awareness to the public. 10 Student volunteers were accompanied by the by the faculty members. the students and faculty walked with the banner on world environmental day for about 2 kilometres reaching out the passers-by, households talking about the importance of protecting of environment and giving away saplings to them. the team also visited few apartments near Chaitanya School OMBR layout Banaswadi, met the people and given the importance protecting the mother earth and handed over the few saplings to them to be planted at their backyard.

The drive went well with the management support and the public coming forward to be part of the protection of environment in their capacities.

CONCLUSION:

The state of our environment is falling day by day due to pollution and global warming. We must celebrate environment-friendly development to save the environment for a better future in our country.
