Faculty Development Programme in Student Centric Learning Technique and Intellectual Property Rights and Industry Academia Innovation Practices

A Two-day Faculty Development Programme was organised by New Horizon College, Kasturinagar for it teaching faculty. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Dr.Vijaya Reddy, Principal NHCK along with the Resource Person Ms.HimaBindu (NHQASDC) and the head of the various department’s.

Day I focused on Student Centric Learning Technique, The resource person Ms.HimaBindu affirmed the need of a facilitator’s role by the teachers. She also mentioned that Team based Learning frame work (TBL) is one of the best tools in assuming a facilitator’s role.

Day II focused on Intellectual Property Rights and Industry Academia Innovation Practices, Dr.Gopalakrishnan, began the session by clarifying the faculties about how Intellectual Property Right is different from Patenting.

Academic innovations is a continuous process, the existing practices could be reformed with creative outlook. Faculties must concentrate on the need to inflate their resume which would make them quality personnel as well as contributors to the growth of the institution. Faculties should also initiate start-ups and other business initiatives” said, Dr.Gopalakrishnan.
