The Electoral Literacy Club organised an educational field visit to “Vidhana Soudha”, where 55 students, along with one faculty member, Ms. Supriya, Assistant Professor, BCA Department and Chairperson of the Electoral Literacy Club, attended a live legislative session. The visit provided students with first-hand exposure to the functioning of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, where discussions were led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Key topics of the session included the 2026–27 state budget, which focused on technology-driven growth, infrastructure development, environmental sustainability, and the use of Artificial Intelligence in governance. Students also observed debates on social equality, poverty eradication, and inclusive development policies, gaining a deeper understanding of the legislative process.

The session highlighted the importance of democratic participation, transparency, and effective policy-making. Interaction with officials, including security officer Doria Raj Jami, further enhanced the students’ understanding of administrative procedures and security protocols within the legislative premises.

During the live proceedings, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed key developmental issues, with particular emphasis on the state budget. Discussions reinforced the significance of economic growth through infrastructure projects, environmental sustainability measures, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence in governance to ensure efficient service delivery.

Overall, the session improved students’ awareness of current socio-economic issues, including technology-driven development, environmental sustainability, and social equality initiatives.

It also encouraged them to become more responsible citizens by understanding the importance of voting and active participation in a democratic system.
