OBJECTIVE
To provide the necessary awareness to investors on Stock Market

An insightful Session on Investors Awareness was held for the students of I year B.Com by Department of Commerce in association with Bombay Stock Exchange. The Resource Persons being Ms. Marina Jose Kanjikal, Bombay Stock Exchange- Investor Protection Fund).
Choosing to invest in stock market gives multiple options, so knowing about the right choice helps investors in their decision making process related to investments. The session enabled the students to explore the overview of Stock Market. With the market in India growing steadily, it is obvious that those who deal in market shares are going to have rewarding returns with vast opportunities for growth considering the careful choices to be made while investing.

The speaker highlights the fact that the stock market is one such market which has withstood the time and tides and achieved success till date.

The session began with speaker emphasizing on why one should start saving to meet the different commitment that one would face in life.

The speaker went on explaining the criteria behind ones investment. Mentioning terms like returns, safety, liquidity and tax benefits.

A very motivating and informative change in the formula for savings was discussed by the speaker with the students.

The session continued on topics of regulators of stock market, understanding the primary and secondary market.

Further the speaker gave insights on different groups in BSE that the investors need to be aware of before investing in such company’s. The session concluded with discussion on DO’s and DON’Ts that investors have to follow while making an attempt to invest in stock market.

There is no doubt that the Indian stock market is full of surprises but if one choose to move in the right direction then one can surely reach success. The session was even more interesting with the examples the speaker gave relating to each topic. It was wonderful knowledge sharing and gaining session on overview of Stock Market.
