In the Land of Ram, In the City of Mahadev

Prof. Sindhu Akilesh has been associated with New Horizon since 2010. This year, with the support of New Horizon Educational Institution, she had the opportunity to undertake a spiritual yatra to Ayodhya and Kashi. It was the first time in her life that she visited these sacred destinations.
In Ayodhya, she stood first in the queue for the darshan of Lord Ram Lalla, overcome with emotion and moved to tears. Surrounded by the devotional chants of Ram Bhajans, she described the experience as truly divine. At Kashi, despite the immense crowds, the team began their visit at the Durga Mandir. Following this, the journey proceeded smoothly, with the queues moving quickly and the team able to have darshan without much delay. Despite the rain, they reached the location of the Ganga Aarti, where Prof. Sindhu felt a profound sense of closeness to God.
The team also visited the Mahamrityunjaya Temple and had the opportunity to seek blessings at the Sankat Hanuman Temple. Recalling a particularly special moment, she shared, “In the temple, the priest had thrown the garland, and the garland fell on us. That was something so special. The pujari also offered us the sacred thread. And honestly… Without our Chairman’s Sir broad mind, we could not have had these experiences.”
The journey continued to the Kala Bhairava Temple, where the team offered their prayers peacefully. At the Tulsi Manas Mandir, they explored the Ramcharitra Manas and discovered that the Ramayana had also been written in Chinese, a revelation that pleasantly surprised them. Vanitha Ma’am, one of their teammates, enriched the experience by explaining the significance of the various places they visited, and the traditions associated with them.
Reflecting on the overall journey, Prof. Sindhu expressed her satisfaction with every aspect of the yatra, from the darshans and food to the accommodation, all the arrangements undertaken by NHEI Management. The entire experience was seamless, and the team did not encounter a single difficult moment throughout the journey.
Sharing her gratitude for the opportunity, she said, “I had taken two breaks to have my children. So, I thought there is a break my career graph and hence, I wouldn’t qualify for the Yatra but the Management had not taken my breaks to have children as a break and enlisted my name for the Yatra. I never thought I would visit Ayodhya- Kashi in this lifetime but the Management has made this possible for me and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity.”
