In the Presence of Shri Ram and Mahadev

For Dr. Mamta, Professor at New Horizon College, Kasturinagar, her 17-year journey with the institution has been enriched by many cherished memories. Yet, the Ayodhya-Kashi Yatra organised by the New Horizon Educational Institution holds a very special place in her heart.

Having earlier been part of the institution’s yatra to Dwarka and Somnath, Dr. Mamta was both surprised and deeply touched when the NHEI Management offered her the opportunity to undertake the Ayodhya-Kashi Yatra. Before speaking about her own experiences, however, she was eager to express her heartfelt gratitude to the NHEI Management, particularly Chairman Dr. Mohan Manghnani, whose thoughtful initiative made the pilgrimage possible.

For her, the arrangements throughout the journey could be summed up in just one word, “Excellent.” Every detail had been thoughtfully taken care of. The accommodation was comfortable, the itinerary meticulously planned, and the meals were served on time, with care given to hygiene, nourishment and nutrition. Nothing seemed to have been left to chance.

With genuine admiration, she says, “Hats off to our Chairman Sir.”

But beyond the impeccable arrangements, it was the spiritual experience that touched her most deeply. Dr. Mamta had visited Ayodhya once before, during the Kumbh Mela. It was a time when millions of devotees had gathered, and the sheer crowds made it extremely difficult to visit the sacred places. Returning to Ayodhya on this yatra was therefore a very different experience, one that allowed her to pause, absorb the sanctity of the place and connect with it at a deeper level.

“There are no words to explain the holy experience,” she says.

For Dr. Mamta, the journey felt complete and wholesome. One such moment came when she discovered that her luggage had been inadvertently taken by another passenger. Her bag contained Banarasi sarees worth nearly ₹20,000, making the situation especially distressing. But rather than lose hope, she turned to prayer.

“I prayed fervently and told God that I had to get my luggage back if I have done everything right so far… ,” she recalls.

The IndiGo team came to her assistance, making calls and helping identify the passenger who had mistakenly taken the bag. Thankfully, the luggage was recovered. What could have been a stressful incident became, for Dr. Mamta, a deeply personal reminder of faith and divinity. The journey itself was filled with devotion. As the group travelled together, the air resonated with prayers and the chanting of the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra. Bhajans brought everyone together, creating an atmosphere of peace, spiritual warmth and collective faith.

For Dr. Mamta, the Ayodhya-Kashi Yatra will remain etched in her memory as an experience that touched her soul. The sacred places, the prayers, the bhajans, the moments of uncertainty and reassurance, and the warmth of travelling together have all become part of a treasured memory. As she looks back on the journey, her words capture its essence beautifully: “There are no words to explain the holy experience.” For Dr. Mamta, this was a journey she will carry with her forever.
