Every great journey leaves behind memories, but a sacred pilgrimage leaves behind a lasting inner peace. When New Horizon Educational Institution (NHEI) began its Ayodhya-Kashi Yatra 2026 for its long-serving staff members, the goal was simple: to offer those who spend their lives guiding others a quiet space to reconnect with their faith and with one another. 

Building on the success of the 2023 Do Dham Yatra and 2025 Dwarka-Somnath Yatra, this year’s expedition brought together staff from every walk of institutional life. Whether housekeeping personnel or security officers, classroom teachers, Heads of Departments, or researchers, every pilgrim experienced identical journeys—sharing the same flights, enjoying the same food and stay arrangements, and receiving the same priority temple access. 

For Dr. Mamatha S, our dedicated faculty member here at New Horizon College, Kasturinagar, currently in her seventeenth year with the institution, the pilgrimage held deep personal significance. This marked her second Yatra with her colleagues, the first one being the 2025 Dwarka-Somnath excursion. Her previous personal visit to Ayodhya and the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela, she tells our team, was amidst overwhelming peak-season crowds. This year’s journey, however, offered a wonderfully serene contrast. 

Accompanied by knowledgeable guides who illuminated the historical and spiritual heritage of each site visited, Dr. Mamatha experienced a profound closeness to the sacred spaces: from the reverent abode of Ram Lalla to the timeless, peaceful ghats of Kashi. Even when heavy monsoon rains swept through the region, the meticulously planned logistics ensured that the group of pilgrims moved comfortably and without any disruption. 

Beyond the spiritual vistas, Dr. Mamatha witnessed a moment of quiet, divine grace when facing an unexpected challenge. Upon returning to Bengaluru late at night, a baggage mix-up at the airport left her without her luggage containing cherished prasadam and special Banarasi silk sarees that she had brought back with her. She found she had picked up a different bag instead. Through prompt intervention by the organising team and what she firmly views as an answer to her prayers, the owner of the swapped bag was located, and the entire mix-up was completely resolved within thirty minutes! For her, the swift resolution was a small miracle that underscored the deep sense of protection and care enveloping the entire trip. 

Reflecting on the experience, Dr. Mamatha expressed her deep gratitude to the Management and to our esteemed Chairman, Dr. Mohan Manghnani, whose steadfast vision ensures that these enriching yearly journeys remain entirely accessible to everyone in our workforce. The sacred vibrations and joy gathered during her travels remain a steady source of comfort and inspiration in her daily life.  

Highlighting the institutional impact of these travels, Chairman Sir made a historic announcement on Teachers’ Day this year: the institution will expand the Yatra initiative to include employees across all institutions, extending this warm spirit of appreciation and shared heritage to the entire New Horizon Family.
