Description of the Event: | A workshop on “Protecting IPR and IP Management for Start-ups” was conducted on 29th April 2026 at 10:00 AM onwards in Computer Lab 4 for the Patent Group students of the BCA Department.
The session was handled by Ms. Rajitha T. R., who provided valuable insights into the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and their role in safeguarding innovations, especially for start-ups.
The workshop witnessed the active participation of 35 students belonging to the patent team. The resource person elaborated on different types of intellectual property such as patents, copyrights, trademarks, and their practical applications in real-world scenarios. She also discussed the procedures involved in filing patents and strategies for effective IP management in emerging businesses.
The session was interactive, allowing students to clarify their doubts and understand the significance of protecting intellectual assets in a competitive market. Overall, the workshop was informative and beneficial in enhancing students’ awareness of IPR and its relevance in entrepreneurship.
