Report | A seminar on “Career Opportunities through Civil Services and Other Government Examinations” was organised by the Career Counselling and Guidance Cell to create awareness among degree students about career opportunities in the government sector. The session introduced students to various competitive examinations and guided them in planning their careers in public service. The resource person explained major examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), and banking recruitment through the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Information regarding eligibility criteria, examination patterns, and preparation strategies was also shared. Students were encouraged to begin preparation early, maintain consistency in their studies, and stay updated with current affairs. The seminar motivated students to consider civil services and other government jobs as meaningful and rewarding career options. The session concluded with an interactive discussion where students clarified their doubts about competitive examinations and career planning.
