Objective |
A session on Technology Readiness Levels (TRL), Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL), Integration Readiness Levels (IRL), IP Commercialisation, and Technology Transfer was delivered by Mr. Santhosh Sunder, Human Resources Learning and Content Delivery, Accenture. The session aimed at helping students evaluate the maturity and market potential of their research and innovation projects. The session was conducted to enable the students to assess the readiness level of their research or projects, understand manufacturing feasibility and scalability aspects, and prepare innovations for investor engagement. Technology Readiness Levels (TRL, 1-9 scale), Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL, 1-10), and Integration Readiness Levels (IRL) are key metrics in assessing innovation maturity from lab to production. TRL gauges technical progress as per NASA standards; MRL evaluates manufacturability via DoD; IRL checks system integrations. IP commercialisation protects inventions through patents for licensing or startups, while tech transfer bridges research to markets via disclosure, evaluation, and deals. Together, they minimize risks, attract funding, and accelerate market entry for breakthroughs |
