About NCC

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a prestigious Tri-Services youth organization comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force.  It functions as the nation’s second line of defence, operating under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Its mission is to develop discipline, leadership, patriotism, and a spirit of service in young citizens, preparing them to be responsible and confident leaders of tomorrow.

NCC 3/2 Company at New Horizon College – Kasturinagar began in 2025 and is affiliated to 6 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Group ‘A’ Bengaluru, Karnataka and Goa Directorate. The company has a sanctioned strength of 80 Cadets and with a enrolled first year cadets of 27, comprising 17 in Senior Division (Boy Cadets) and 10 in Senior Wing (Girl Cadets).

Lt. Nandini T serves as the Associate NCC Officer (ANO) of the institution and is a Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Management. She is a dedicated NCC ‘C’ Certificate holder who was directly commissioned as a Lieutenant in the National Cadet Corps on 21 April 2018. Furthering her professional military training, she successfully completed the Pre-Commission Course (PRCN) with an ‘A’ Grade in 2019 at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant milestone in her service career.

With a strong passion for the NCC and unwavering commitment, she works tirelessly to instil discipline, leadership, confidence, and a spirit of national service among the cadets. By mentoring students through rigorous training and character-building activities, she ensures the institution continues to produce responsible citizens. Her efforts remain steadfastly dedicated to upholding the core values of the organization, embodied in the NCC motto, “Unity and Discipline.”

Training

The total duration of training for Senior Division (SD) and Senior Wing (SW) cadets is three years. During the training year, every cadet is required to undergo service training during the NCC Parades. Cadets must complete at least 75% of the total prescribed training hours during the annual Training session. In addition, every cadet is required to attend an Annual Training Camp of 10 days’ duration, known as the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC). Upon successful completion of the camp, cadets are awarded a certificate of completion

Certificate Examination

‘B - Certificate’ ‘C - Certificate’
Cadets become eligible to appear for the examination in their second year of NCC training. Cadets are eligible to appear for the Certificate ‘C’ examination in the third year of NCC training.
The cadet must have completed a minimum of 75% of the total training periods prescribed in the syllabus for the first and second year. The cadet must possess a B Certificate and must have completed a minimum of 75% of total training periods prescribed in the syllabus for third year.
In addition, the cadet must have attended at least one Annual Training Camp (ATC) or National Integration Camp (NIC). Cadets holding an ‘A’ Certificate are eligible for an award of 10 bonus marks. In addition, the cadet must have attended at least two Annual Training Camps (ATC) or one ATC and one of the following: RD Camp Delhi, Centrally Organised Camps, Para Training Camp, Attachment Training with service units, National Integration Camp, or Youth Exchange Programme.
