The Department of Computer Science of New Horizon College, Kasturi Nagar organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Trauma and Orthopedics Blood Bank on Tuesday 14th June 2022. The camp began at 10.00 a.m. Dr. T. Logeswari Head of the Department inaugurated the Event . She stressed on the growing need for blood in the state and commended the young volunteers for their noble act.
The Lower-Level auditorium of NHCK was the venue for the medical check-up from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. All potential donor’s eligibility was checked by Monitoring their blood pressure level and checking their weight. Provision was made for the donors to sit and recuperate for a while before they left the venue. They were provided with juice, biscuits and appreciated with a Certificate for their noble cause.
It was great to see many students and faculty members willingly donating blood. This stretched the capacity of the blood bank, because of which the contact details of the donors were taken to allow them to donate at the earliest. The blood banks collected 75 donors of different blood groups.
The samples were carefully sealed and transported away, while the volunteers and hospital staff helped in the clean-up of the area. Throughout the Blood camp, there were smiles and laughter all around – a true embodiment of what we believe in – selfless service with a smile. The College unit provided a thanksgiving certificate to Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Trauma and Orthopedics Blood Bank as a token of appreciation for their service.
