OBJECTIVE: To understand the changes in technology and provide comprehensive understanding of the operations and services of operating system in software industry.
An operating system is the most important software that runs on a computer. It manages the computer’s memory and processes, as well as all of its software and hardware. It also allows us to communicate with the computer without knowing how to speak the computer’s language.
The session started at 9:00A.Mwith a welcome speech byAnushafrom 3rd sem BCA.The Speaker of the session wasMr.Balasubramanian Dhandapani presented the keynote address on “Operating System Structures”. He discussed the basic concepts of operation system initially. Then he delibrated on the topics -Layers and views of OS,Types of OS, Services and featuresof OS,Cloud OS and Unix Structure. He quoted some of the best real-world examples which was very useful for the students. He also discussed with numerous examples in UNIX Operating System.
This programwas arranged to gain the knowledge and practical experience of UNIX Operating System from the veteran Mr.Balasubramanian Dhandapani who has15 years of experienceand working as a Manager in Alshaya Systems,Bangalore.The feedback about the session was collected from all the participants to incorporate and improvise upcoming sessions.
OUTCOME:
The objective was achieved as the students learntLayers and views of OS, Type of OS, Services and features of OS, Cloud OS and Unix Structure. They gained knowledge about how the operating system is used in real-time Scenario.
