Description | The Department of Commerce organised a Value-Added Programme on The session began with an introduction to E-Commerce, including its definition, evolution, and various types such as B2B, B2C, C2C, and C2B. Students were introduced to different E-Commerce business models, including marketplace, inventory, drop shipping, and subscription models. The trainer also explained widely used E-Commerce platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, and OpenCart. Participants were guided through the basic steps involved in setting up an online store, including domain registration, hosting, and CMS configuration. The session also covered product listing, inventory management, and order processing. Students were introduced to payment gateways such as PayPal, Razorpay, Stripe, and Cash on Delivery. Important areas such as E-Commerce security, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Social Media Marketing, and Email Marketing were also discussed. In addition, the programme addressed E-Commerce analytics, Customer Relationship Management, shipping processes, logistics, and Supply Chain Management. The growing importance of mobile commerce and legal compliance in E-Commerce was also highlighted. The programme concluded with a case study analysis of successful companies such as Amazon and Flipkart, followed by a final project presentation in which students developed and presented an E-Commerce business plan.
