GUEST LECTURE ON ‘HUMAN TRAFFICKING’

The women’s cell ‘Aaradhya’ organised a guest lecture on ‘Human Trafficking’ for the students of B.Com, BCA and BBA on 17th July 2017 in the auditorium between 2.30 PM and 4.00 PM. The speaker Ms. Brinda Adige is the founder of an NGO called Global Concerns India, Bengaluru and a social worker who works for the upliftment of women.

The programme was an initiative to create awareness among students on the brutalities and hardship faced by the victims. The speaker enlightened the audience on various ways the youngsters are lured for jobs and money by agents and thereby are trapped and further threatened . She shared some of her experiences about her rescue missions undertaken and rehabilitation provided for them. Talking about how the network works she also guided students on precautions to be taken when approached by strangers.

The overwhelming session came to a close with an interaction session followed by a series of thought provoking questions by the speaker that left the audience thinking / probing for more.
