The Department of Computer Science organized an online International Webinar on “Google Cloud Computing on 22nd June 2021 through Cisco WebEx. The session started by welcoming the Resource Person of the webinar Mr. Ravi Kiran Kumar Technical Team Lead, Apple, Austin Texas, US.
Mr Ravi started his session with the basic concepts of cloud computing. He explained Cloud computing has emerged as a revolutionary paradigm through which organizations can optimize their Information and Communication Technology (ICT) investments. He also discussed different cloud infrastructures and explained about cloud services managed by various providers. He expounded that Edge Computing is the optimization of Cloud, to move the compute close to the source of data to the edge. Then, she presented an overview on Cloud Computing and how companies can rent access to anything, from applications to storage, from a Cloud service provider. He illustrated the different service models of Cloud Computing. Finally, he discussed career opportunities in GCP. It was very exciting for the participants to have interaction with resource person and cleared their queries. The participants appreciated the resource person and the informative session in their feedback.
Outcome: – Able to recognize the services provided by the Google Cloud platform for storage, networking and security, advantages of GCP.
