Objectives:
1. To introduce students to college services that support their educational and personal goals (ex. library, information technology, academic and student services departments).
2. To familiarize students about the academic and student service resources.
3. To create an atmosphere that minimizes anxiety, promotes positive attitudes and stimulates Excitement for learning.
4. To provide a welcoming atmosphere for students and families to meet faculty, staff, and Students.

The Orientation Program for the academic year 2020 was organized in New Horizon College, Kasturinagar on 31/08/2020 at 10:00AM through online mode for BCA, BBA and B.COM Courses. Three meetings were conducted simultaneously for the three streams. The programme started with an invocation song, followed by a prelude to the Institution. The Director Dr. Sunita Hangal welcomed the students and the parents in her address.

The Host of the meeting guided the students about the College and University norms giving them a glimpse of the academic disciplines. The faculty was introduced to the parents and students. A detailed information about the value added Programs offered for the respective courses, internal examination, assignments and assessments were discussed. A preview of the cultural and sports opportunities, clubs and committees was given. Students were asked to register for the same. The program offered clarity of the immense opportunities provided by the college for a holistic development of every single student.
The orientation program came to a close with a note of gratitude to the parents and students who took part in the orientation program followed by the National Anthem.

Outcome:
The objective of the program was met with Students being introduced to the college services that will support their educational and personal goals. Students and families were made familiar with faculty, staff, and code of conduct on campus.
