EDUCATIONAL VISIT

National Industrial Trip, Goa – 28 April to 1 May

The students of fourth semester B.com/BCA/BBA were taken to an industrial trip to Goa. Four teaching staff accompanied the students. This trip provided exposure to the students. They gathered wider knowledge on various subjects.

Day 1 – 28 April

We reached the resort in the afternoon. The lunch was served and the rooms were allotted. The first day was relaxed. Calangute beach was visited. The beach is nearest to the resort. The evening was spent on the beach. A camp fire was organized in the resort. The students enjoyed themselves.

Day 2 – 29 April

After the breakfast at the resort, we left old Goa. The churches of Old Goa were visited. This helped to understand the cultural heritage of Goa. The church of Francis of Assisi, Basilica of Bom Jesus, Chapel of Saint Catherine, Se Cathedral, and St Anne’s Church were visited. These churches are built by the Portuguese. The Basilica of Bom Jesus contains the mortal remains of St Francis Xavier who was a missionary to Goa.

We headed towards Mangueshi Temple which helped us to feel a spiritual ambience. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Bhagavan Manguesh is an Incarnation of Lord Shiva. The temple complex has shrines of Goddess Parvati and God Ganesha.

The spice plantation was the next destination. We were able to witness the rarest spices. The distillation of the local drink Fenny was shown at the plantation. The lunch was served at the Plantation. Later in the evening, we went for a ride in a cruise. The cruise had a cultural exhibition. The Portuguese culture was represented. We headed back to the resort and called it a day.

Day 3 – 30 April

The third and final day of the visit. Anjuna and Vagatour beaches were visited. The students spent time shipping and getting souvenir for their loved ones. We left the Goa in the evening.The IV semester students of B.Com, BBA and BCA were taken to Goa as part of the National Educational Tour during March 2018.Each batch consisted of around 100 students and 3 faculty members.Students visited the Tropical Spice Garden plantation; spread over 180 acres, wherein the different uses of plants grown there, right from Fenny distillation to extraction of essential oils were made known to them. They also visited St. Francis Church at Old Goa, an architectural splendor while also spending quality time in exploring Fort Agoda. They also visited Baga, Vagator and Miramar beaches. The trip added value in terms of team work, coordination and taught students the art of balancing freedom with responsibility.
