The Commerce Department, in association with IIC, organised an engaging event titled “Innovative Investments: Financial Awareness and Consumer Training” for VI Semester and II Semester B.Com students, totalling 151 participants. The Resource Person was Mr. Renjit Mathew, Financial Education Trainer from the National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE), promoted by RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, and PFRDA.

The session focused on modern investment avenues such as mutual funds, SIPs, digital assets, insurance, and sustainable investing. The speaker highlighted the importance of financial planning, risk assessment, and informed decision-making.

Interactive discussions and real-life case studies helped students understand consumer rights, fraud prevention, and smart budgeting strategies. The event aimed to equip young learners with practical financial skills, encouraging responsible investing habits and empowering them to make confident financial choices in an evolving economic landscape.
