INFRASTRUCTURE

The College has state-of- the art infrastructure: its learning resources include ICT-enabled classrooms, seminar halls and computer labs, library and other support facilities. The College campus has adequate infrastructure for sports and other extracurricular activities like Athletics, Indoor Basketball, Cricket, Volleyball, Football, Kabbadi, Table tennis and Badminton.

The security and vigilance of the campus is maintained by a team of security guards comprising of a Chief Security Officer, Security Officers and Security Guards. The point of contact for all maintenance related issues is the Administrator, New Horizon College. In case of any complaints, the Administrator lodges a complaint through an email to the maintenance department of the institution.

The Institution has in-house full time employed carpenters, plumbers, electricians and painters. The maintenance department is headed by the Registrar who in turn monitors the work of the Administrator and the supervisor at the next level.

Adequate in -house staff is employed to meticulously maintain hygiene, cleanliness and infrastructure on the campus so as to provide a congenial learning environment. Classrooms, Staffrooms, Seminar halls, Library and Laboratories etc. are cleaned and maintained regularly by House Keeping Staff.

Duties of House-Keeping Staff include cleaning of class rooms, corridors, floor cleaning of laboratories, staff rooms and other areas allotted.

Toilet Hygiene: Each toilet is to be cleaned four times a day, which is supervised regularly

Class Rooms: Use of non-dust chalks. Daily sweeping of class rooms. Provision of dust bins in each class room.

Floors:  Daily sweeping and mopping to ensure dust-free surrounding.

Wash rooms and rest rooms are well-maintained. Dustbins are placed in every floor.

Optimum working condition of all properties/ equipment on the campus is ensured through annual maintenance contracts (AMC). The AMC purview includes maintenance of Generator and Water Purifiers. Maintenance of infrastructure facilities, services and equipment’s is done as per following details:

• There is an uninterrupted power supply due to a stand by generator facility.

• Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) is provided for the computer laboratory/sections/units to ensure no data is lost or any sort of damage is caused.

• Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant Systems are installed in the campus and there is a continuous drinking water supply.

Computer facilities are made available to the students for at least 8 hours a day and Wi-Fi enabled facility is provided to students for better internet accessibility. Library maintenance is computerized and automated with regular/constant up-keeping of stock. The campus maintenance is monitored through surveillance Cameras. Periodic reporting on requirements of repairs and maintenance are submitted by the Administrative office. Pest control of library books and records is done every year by the maintenance department. Regular maintenance of civil works such as furniture repairs, masonry and plaster works, painting, carpentry, plumbing and housekeeping.

The College provides various services / facilities to the students, faculty and staff – 24/7 Reading hall, Free Wi-Fi enabled campus ,Cafeterias facilities, Banking / ATMs facilities, Recreation center with indoor games like Carom board, Chess, Table Tennis, Meditation and Yoga center, Reprography center ,Auditorium ,Indoor Stadium ,Badminton Court ,Seminar Hall and Stationery shop.
