Description

The Department of Computer Science, New Horizon College, Kasturi Nagar, Bengaluru, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council, organised a National Youth Day celebration with a field visit on 14 March 2026. A group of 116 IV Sem BCA students, accompanied by two faculty members, visited Ramakrishna Math to participate in the Swami Vivekananda Youth Awareness Programme (SVYAP). The day began with registration at 9:30 AM., followed by a spiritual session comprising Arati, Vedic Chanting, and Bhajans. Swami Nityasthanandaji Maharaj delivered the introductory address.

The curriculum featured two impactful sessions: “Swami Vivekananda: A Timeless Inspiration for Today’s Youth” by Sri V Raghu, and a session on life values by Mata Vivekamayi. The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A, student feedback, and Lunch Prasada. The field visit offered a profound learning experience beyond the traditional classroom, successfully engaging all 116 students in meaningful self-reflection.

By participating in the Swami Vivekananda Youth Awareness Programme, students gained practical insights into applying Vivekananda’s values to contemporary challenges. The event concluded positively, with comprehensive student feedback, leaving participants inspired to contribute constructively to society.
