Description of | The main objective of the workshop, “AI-Powered Learning: The Role of Generative Models”, was to introduce participants to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Generative AI, along with their growing role in education, research, and professional environments. The workshop aimed to help participants understand how traditional Machine Learning differs from modern Deep Learning, and how Generative AI models can create new content such as text, code, images, and learning materials, rather than merely predicting outcomes. The session was organised for first-year BCA students, with a total of 62 participants attending. Another objective was to demonstrate how Large Language Models (LLMs), embeddings, and transformers function in generating meaningful responses from large datasets. The session also focused on practical applications of Generative AI in teaching, including syllabus design, question generation, lesson planning, and research support. Additionally, the workshop sought to develop awareness of prompt engineering techniques that enable users to communicate effectively with AI systems and obtain accurate outputs. Overall, the workshop aimed to equip participants with both foundational knowledge and practical understanding of AI-driven learning tools. |
