Report: The Department of Commerce organized a Value-Added Program on “Business Intelligence Tools” to enhance students’ analytical capabilities and prepare them for data-driven business environments. The program aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices by equipping students with essential skills in data analytics, visualization, and business decision-making. Each session combined theoretical understanding with practical exercises, enabling participants to explore modern BI platforms and their applications in real-world business scenarios.

Objective of the Program:

  • To understand the concepts of Business Intelligence (BI), Analytics, and Data Science in business contexts.
  • To learn the BI lifecycle, from data collection and preparation to visualization and insight generation.
  • To develop proficiency in Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and Looker Studio for practical business applications.

Outcome: The Value-Added Programme successfully enhanced students’ understanding of BI tools and their significance in strategic business decisions. Participants gained hands-on experience in creating dashboards, analyzing datasets, and presenting actionable insights. The training strengthened their employability and technical readiness for roles in analytics, finance, and business strategy.
